Due to high customer demand, all routine services at AIT Taipei and Kaohsiung American Citizen Services office are by appointment only using our online scheduling system.

Services for the Handicapped and the Elderly: AIT Taipei's Consular Section is in a three-story building without an elevator. The American Citizens Services Unit is located on the second floor. If you are unable to climb stairs please have your escort come to the second floor to check in for your appointment. If you are alone, use the telephone at the bottom of the stairs to call the second floor and arrange to be served downstairs.

American Citizen Services Fees to Increase Beginning July 13, 2010
Effective July 13, 2010, a number of fees for American Citizen Services will increase. This increase is to ensure sufficient resources to cover the increasing cost of providing consular services.

New Law Makes Absentee Voting Easier for Overseas Americans
The American Institute in Taiwan encourages U.S. citizens in Taiwan to vote in all elections in which they are eligible, including in state primaries and in the upcoming November 2010 General Election. Click here for information on absentee voting for overseas Americans.
