Sending Money to Overseas Citizens
If you need to send money to a U.S. citizen in Taiwan, you must make arrangements through the Department of State in Washington, DC. There is a US$30 processing fee, payable by money order or cashier's check to the Department of State. Upon receipt, OCS will authorize AIT to disburse the funds to the U.S. citizen. The recipient must contact AIT to make arrangements to collect the funds. If the sender does not provide the recipient's complete name and contact information in Taiwan, it will delay the transfer. AIT disburses funds in NT dollars.
